A lovely, intense nose of blackberry, cassis and tar. Very pure and refined on the palate – this is a classic 1986. The firm tannins remain in situ, but there is vibrant acidity. A mid-weight wine for the vintage but one that is refined and classy. Drink over the next 10 years. Tasted April 2003.
