First tasted at en primeur in April 2001 when I said “this tannic wine should be a long-term beauty”. Still holds true four years later. A very dense, brambly nose. Blackberry leaf and black olives. Minerally. The palate is well-balanced, powerful and very tannic. Backward with a blackberry, black truffle finish. Yet you are left with the impression that it is an elegant wine. Superb, but wait until 2012. Tasted April 2005.
